Animal rights activists storm Julie Bishop speech in US

ANIMAL rights activists brandishing photos of mutilated livestock rushed the stage while Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop spoke at a Los Angeles university.

The protesters were demonstrating against what they called Australia's inhumane treatment of live export animals.

Ms Bishop reportedly offered them a private audience after the forum.
