43-year-old adult shop owner arrested after police operation
BUNDABERG and Mackay detectives, with the assistance of officers from State Crime Command and the Crime and Corruption Commission have today concluded Operation Mike Augment.
The operation commenced more than 12 months ago targeting the sale of synthetic drugs from a number of adult stores across Queensland, including Mackay, Bundaberg, Toowoomba and Rockhampton.
Investigations by police and recent Crime and Corruption Commission hearings has led to the arrest of 15 persons on 54 charges under the Drugs Misuse Act, including the trafficking, production and possession of drugs.
This includes the recent arrest and extradition of a 43-year-old man, the proprietor of a Queensland chain of adult stores, from Victoria to Queensland, on January 13, 2016.
"This is an outstanding outcome and ensures that the QPS remains committed to community safety and removal of dangerous drugs from our streets," Detective Acting Inspector David Briese from Wide Bay Burnett Crime and Support Services Group said.
