Fresh face for 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander in Australia
FRESH from its debut in New York, the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander has been launched in Australia wearing its new "Dynamic Shield" face.
It's a face actually inspired by early Pajero models, and the Outlander is the first of all Mitsubishi models to adopt the new style.
Entry-level prices have risen by $750 on the manual and $500 for the automatic, in the mid-spec there is no change, while the range-topping models drop $400 (see pricing below).
The Outlander's new front design features a redesigned front and rear fascia, new front guards, LED daytime running lights, silver roof rails, new design 18-inch alloy wheels and LED tail lights.

A new generation continuously variable transmission is said to offer improved acceleration, performance, shift feel and torque delivery.
That comes courtesy of increased structural rigidity in the body, revised suspension design, new electric power steering calibration and reduced noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) throughout the vehicle.
There are three trim levels LS, mid-range XLS and top-of-the-range Exceed variant and three engine choices.
Outlander is available with a 2.0-litre or 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol, or a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel.
Average fuel consumption in the 2.0-litre petrol is down to 6.7 litres/100km (from 6.9), the 2.4-litre petrol now gets 7.2L/100km (formerly 7.5) while the diesel is still 6.2L/100km.
