IVECO's new Daily Van and Cab Chassis have arrived in Australia, fresh from being crowned the 2015 International Van of the Year in Europe.

The all-new models come with a 2.3-litre diesel with 126hp and 320Nm, or a 3.0-litre diesel good for 170hp and 430 Nm or 205hp and 470Nm in range-topping guise.

Of most note however is the introduction of an optional ZF Hi-Matic eight-speed automatic gearbox, an industry first for the class, and favoured by the automotive segment in the likes of Jeep and Maserati vehicles.

While a six-speed manual is also offered in the new Daily, Iveco says the eight-speed auto with sequential shift will be the big seller and of real appeal to the likes of tradespeople, couriers and postal, emergency vehicles and food and beverage distributors.

Efforts to boost comfort and safety and make the cabin more car-like sees standard features in the Van include multiple airbags, MP3 and Bluetooth operated through steering wheel controls, cruise control, an Eco switch and a rear parking sensor.

Iveco says 80% of the Daily's bodywork has been redesigned from the outgoing model, with the vans featuring redesigned wheelbases and total lengths, and load capacity now from 9m3 up to almost 20m3.

The Daily's Cab chassis or Dual Cab feature bodybuilder friendly chassis layouts, while minibus versions with factory-built interiors and a seating capacity of up to 22 are also available.

Pricing for the van range starts from $49,501 plus on-roads for the 9m3 35S13 model and runs to $71,477 for the 20m3 50C17 model.

The cab chassis starts at $50,547 for the 45C17 and peaks at $63,602 for the 70C17 variant.

Dual cabs start at $70,137 for the 50C17.

Daily 4x4 has a starting price of $86,402 for the 55S17W cab chassis (single cab) and $93,278 for the dual cab 55S17W.

The new 2015 Iveco Daily is available at dealerships now.
