13 die in Pakistan suicide attack
AN EXPLOSION killed at least 13 people and wounded nearly 60 in a suicide bomb attack in Lahore, Pakistan on Monday. The blast struck a crowd of hundreds of pharmacists demonstrating against new amendments to drug sales, as well as killing five police officers who were accompanying the peaceful protest. "We just couldn't understand what happened,” Tufail Nabi told local Geo News TV. "It was as if some big building collapsed,” he said. Jamaat-ur-Ahrar, a faction of the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for the attack.
