10 animal cruelty shockers in Queensland this year
EVERY year, the RSPCA responds to thousands of reports of suspected animal cruelty cases.
The most sickening acts tend to be shared on social media sites - with many hoping the culprits will be identified and pointed out to the authorities.
Early in the year, RSPCA officers were called to Logan where a pregnant kangaroo had an arrow in it's head.
According to former Central Queensland inspector, Laurie Stageman, who now lives in Brisbane, apparently the RSPCA had a lot of issues with kangaroos being shot with arrows in that area.
But the arrow issue is not just being found in Brisbane. Inspector Claire Gordon said the problem is widespread.
Now, the RSPCA is calling for a registration system to be set up so that anytime someone living in Queensland buys an arrow, it is recorded - including specifications - to help deter the animal cruelty acts going on.
