Marketing & Communication Officer

About the role
Deliver timely, relevant, accurate and consistent information across different mediums (print, radio, television and
online media) to maximise coverage to the relevant target audience with a key focus on the marketing and
promotion of Council’s facilities, services and events.
Key Selection Criteria
The skills and experience we’re looking for
Strong journalism background with skills in video recording, presenting, voice over, editing and producing
Highly developed written and oral communication skills including attention to detail, proof reading skills and ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
Knowledge of social networking channels and demonstrated experience in administering social media platforms to promote services
Advanced computer literacy across a diverse range of applications including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro) and web-based applications
Exceptional interpersonal skills to work with Council’s management team and other internal stakeholders, in order to communicate and negotiate agreed actions and outcomes
Ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently and possess a high level of organisational skills, initiative, innovation and professionalism in the workplace
Demonstrated experience in managing corporate websites including monitoring performance, trends and reporting using web analytics tools and a good knowledge of principles of search engine optimisation (SEO)
Demonstrated experience with digital content management and publishing systems (e.g. SharePoint, HTML or similar applications).
The qualifications you must have
Current C (Car) Class Driver Licence
Tertiary qualifications in related field of study (Visual Media Journalism, Marketing, Communication) or related experience
